I was a "rescue" Chihuahua. My family found me advertised on-line by a couple who had a pet shelter and were trying to place animals with families. I had been in a house with 19 other dogs and we had all been confiscated because we weren't being cared for properly. A year or so after I joined the VW Family, I heard on the radio that the couple that had kept me before had been indicted in an animal abuse and neglect case. Apparently their shelter hadn't worked out very well for some of the animals that they had. I am relieved that I found my family before I was one of the fatalities at the pet shelter.
