Issue #6 - Independence Day, You Say?

We interrupt our regularly scheduled program with a "bang!" Firework season is upon us, a terrifying ordeal for many pets, and a time when more dogs run away and are lost than any other time of the year. So, make sure your dog is wearing an updated Dog Tag Art tag, and that you've activated Virtual Leash. If your dog is especially skittish, you may want to consider trying aThundershirt.

Issue #5 - Touch & Go

Just when you think it's all blue skies and sunshine, a dark cloud looms above. Where we left off, Ira found his forever home, but something is terribly wrong. He survived the stress of the shelter, but picked up a nasty upper respiratory infection and winds up in the hospital. Things are "touch and go" at best, but one thing is certain: Love is a powerful medicine. Will Ira pull through?

Issue #4 - Who's Your Daddy?

When you're a mutt people like to guess your breed. They tell you how you must be related to this kind of dog, or, if you're Ira G, how you look like that kind of celebrity. It's a funny thing, not knowing where you come from, but the important thing is to know who you are.

Issue #3 - Adoption Day

Love is a curious thing. You don't know when the right person will come along and all you can do is wait. For sick little Ira G, he didn't hold much hope for his chance at a forever home at his first Adoption Fair, especially given the state he was in. But miracles do happen.

Issue #2 - Looking Back

Today on our program: Looking Back. How do you overcome a rough start in life? Sometimes it feels like the deck is stacked; like the universe is almost conspiring against you...and then something miraculous happens. Thing is, you don't always know who or what that will be. Check back next week for the happy ending to Ira's bumpy beginning. Stay tuned!

Issue #1 - Introducing This American Dog

Meet Ira G: Scruffy rescue dog with a mohawk, impressive eyebrows, and a little attitude to spare. Each week, Ira G will share stories from his life in Asheville, North Carolina, and take you along for the fun. Armed with his Dog Tag Art tag (should he ever wander away, though we hope those days are behind us), he roams the city with his person, Kathleen, and encounters a host of colorful characters along the way. We hope you'll join us for the journey!
